Honor and Duty

"I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain."

-Frank Herbert

Who are you? What do you stand for? What drives you?

I am a warrior at heart. I do not mean a person who glories in battle, or the type to subjugate others to my will. I am a protector.

There are basic fundamental ground rules that the world is supposed to operate by that are constantly ignored, refused or flat out ridden over. We all can feel this imbalance, and we all know it to be true. This world is not in alignment of these fundamental rules of creation, and the signs of this are everywhere. Our lives are constant struggles to survive...to pay the next bill, to find your next meal, to ignore the focus of the principalities and powers in dominance in this world.

Why is this world the way it is? Why are we so frozen in fear that we do not do anything about it? It is because we have been trained this way, just like Pavlov's dog. Anytime we see injustice or depravity, we put our heads down and hope that we aren't the next one singled out, sorry for the person it is happening to, but secretly relieved that it is not us. Anytime we stand up and step outside of the crowd, we have the attention on us. Not just from the physical, political, and authoritarian rulers on our planet, but our own fellow people.

Having this attention on us means that we are center stage, with everyone looking, judging and criticizing us. It means we are stepping out of the herd mentality, which we have been bred into, and becoming an individual. Most cannot handle this type of attention. It fills them with nervousness, fear and trepidation, and that can freeze you in your tracks...a deer in the headlights. Learning to step inside the fear, breathe deeply, and smile in the face of your terror is the only way to get past it. We must get past the fear in order to step up and make a difference.

Lets take a small scale example here. What would you do if you were on the school playground, and the local bully is picking on a fellow classmate who is unable to defend themselves? Would you stand in the crowd of onlookers, secretly glad you aren't the focus of the bully's attention? Most likely. Each of us has faced a situation like this, where we were compelled to act, yet we didn't. Why? Most of our fears boil down to only a couple of things. Fear of death, and fear of separation.

The fear of death, once we understand that everything is energy which cannot be destroyed, including us, should set us free from that fear, but we are constantly hounded by every aspect of our society in why we should be. Fear of burning eternally in a lake of fire, fear of not existing, fear of the unknown. These things are deep seated in humanity simply because we are indoctrinated into this system, and instead of stepping outside what is comfortable, we choose to stay there.

The fear of separation is deep seated in our psyche. We are constantly worried about what people are thinking about us, how they might treat us, and what they might say about us, and we dictate our behavior to conform into the boundaries we impose on ourselves in this line of thinking.

Why do we do this? Why do we see injustice and instead of stepping up and speaking our truth we hide in the crowd? There are energetic reasons for this, such as etheric parasites and entities that goad us into the herd mentality, but at the end of the day, we are responsible for our actions. We are the ones who choose not to care...

This is not acceptable. Evil only prevails when good people refuse to do anything about it, and unlike what is hammered into us from every angle, this world is full of good people. Human nature is not greed, avarice, jealousy and hate....this is a lie to make us think we are separate, and the only ones who think this way. This world is filled with men and women who want nothing more than to live a happy life in harmony with nature and our fellow humans, and confrontation, anger, and prejudice are the last things we want to see in this world...which is a major crux of the problem.

A loving, genuine human is confused by the negative situations that occur regularly here on our planet. A loving, genuine human does not want to be put in a situation where they might face anger or confrontation with another human, simply because we do not align in that way, and many of us find that standing up and speaking the truth in the face of injustice will cause just that.

We need to shift this. Our world will not change without applying the energy towards the change we wish to see. In the famous words of Gandhi, "We must become the change we wish to see in the world."

I am a warrior, a protector, a father, a lover, a teacher, a student and a human with every God given right to live my life free of subjugation, tyranny and fear, yet this is what I face simply by being born here on this planet. We know this is not right. We know this deep down in our souls, in the very core of our being, yet we have not come together to change it.

How do we shift from, "Well what can we do about it?", to "Well, what CAN we do about it?" Simple. Let's start small. Let's teach our children and our peers to stand up for what they believe in. When we teach, we begin to understand on a level that we didn't understand before. In martial arts, it is said that you cannot truly master the art until you begin to teach it. Teaching reveals multiple levels we never thought of before, as well as multiple questions from the students that might not have occurred to us to begin with that then open up a whole new line of thinking in the art you had supposedly mastered. More importantly, when we begin to teach, we must lead by example. In layman's terms, we are putting our money where our mouth is.

Let's start to be inclusive. Let us begin to look at what we have in common instead of the differences that separate us. Do you want to be happy? Do you want to live free? Do you wish to see everyone live this way? Then who cares what you believe in, or who you believe in. We are humans. White, black, red, yellow, brown, blue, purple, magenta...none of this matters. In the end we all go back to what we started off as. Ashes to ashes, dust to dust. This body is not eternal, we all have to go sometime.

We can't take anything with us when we die, and this fact alone makes this physical existence's main goal the feelings, relationships, and energetic connections we make during this life. Nothing else can make sense, because there is nothing else. If your life was nothing but hate, anger, separation and prejudice, you have failed. You have missed the biggest questions most have while here: What is the meaning of life? Why are we here?

Lets start to really put into practice the understanding that this soul is energy, and energy cannot be destroyed. Death is not something to be terrified of, but something to have an understanding, and even a love for. It is the next step. You are here to learn, love, and grow, and if you do not, you get another chance.

The next time you are in a situation where you feel the need to speak up and flow in the RIGHTNESS of universal law, do it. "Speak up even if your voice shakes." Building up your ability to say no, or say no for people who cannot starts small. Unless you work towards change, you will never see it. It is not an easy thing to do, but when you start, you will notice something absolutely magical. Not only will it become easier to do, you will find people of the like mind starting to pop up around you. They might even be people you have known all your life and had no clue they felt the same way, but YOU gave them the courage to break free of their own fear programming.

Honor, defined by Wikipedia is, "Dr. Samuel Johnson, in his A Dictionary of the English Language (1755), defined honour as having several senses, the first of which was "nobility of soul, magnanimity, and a scorn of meanness." This sort of honour derives from the perceived virtuous conduct and personal integrity of the person endowed with it."

Nobility of soul...magnanimity....a scorn of meanness. Humanity aligns with this, despite the programming we have been subjected to. The people who do not align with this do so because they never truly understood how they have been programmed, and have never tried to resist and transmute the programming. We are naturally honorable without knowing it. Each of us has a nobility of soul that is ingrained deep into our being, and only the layers of programs on top of that have been able to snuff it out, but not eradicate it. It is ready to be fanned into flame inside of anyone.

Duty defined by Wikipedia is, "Duty (from "due" meaning "that which is owing"; Old French: deu, did, past participle of devoir; Latin: debere, debitum, whence "debt") is a term that conveys a sense of moral commitment or obligation to someone or something. The moral commitment should result in action; it is not a matter of passive feeling or mere recognition. When someone recognizes a duty, that person theoretically commits himself to its fulfillment without considering their own self-interest. This is not to suggest that living a life of duty entirely precludes a life of leisure; however, its fulfillment generally involves some sacrifice of immediate self-interest. Typically, "the demands of justice, honor, and reputation are deeply bound up" with duty."

The moral commitment should result in action; it is not a matter of passive feeling or mere recognition.... When you become aware of the natural law, to stand aside and let injustice happen is the exact same as doing it yourself. We are bound by honor and duty to step outside of our comfort zones and become more than we were, and by proxy, elevate the people around us by example.

This world is not an easy place to live in. There is much happening here that is pure atrocity, and the only reason that it is commonplace is because we have not stood up collectively and ended it forever. There is much beauty here however, so much magic and connectivity that anyone can tap into. Each of us is a magnificent Creator-God capable of incredibly powerful feats of manifestation, if we step outside of the current programs. The inner strength to stand up and say NO!! in the face of fear and judgement starts small, but once it starts, it is like a boulder rolling down the side of a mountain. It kicks loose more rocks one by one, and each of those start to move more stones until you have an avalanche, unstoppable, barreling down the mountain. What starts as one becomes many, and in our collective strength, nothing can stop us.

This isn't a call to action. This is a call to critically think. This is a call to reflect inward and face your fear as an individual and realize what you truly want to see in your life and in the world around you. Once you truly understand what you wish to manifest, action is a bi-product.

I refuse to stand by and not speak up. I refuse to sit in placidity and not put out to the world how I feel. Here is my boulder at the top of the mountain, and I am giving it a tiny push. Together we WILL become the avalanche.

I love all of you.

-Eric
